No Book Left Unread Summer Reading Challenge September 24, 2008

We read a total of 66,707 pages! Mrs. Hardwick-Ivy read the most pages for the teachers with 6,332 pages. Ashley Readler had the most for the students at 6,058. They will receive a $10 gift certificate to Books-a-Million. Mrs. Pace and Ana Blazak will also receive a $10 gift certificate. Their names were drawn in a random drawing of the participants in the Summer Reading Challenge.

Friends of the Library met Wednesday, Sept. 3. We have decided that our next book for book discussion will be Life as we knew it by Susan Beth Pfeffer. It is a South Carolina Young Adult Book Nominee for 2008-2009. It sounds really good. A meteor is headed for the moon and knocks the moon closer to the earth’s orbit which alters the earth’s climate. Come and get your copy at the library.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, Sept. 18. Come and join us!

Is everyone keeping up wth the pages they read this summer? Don’t forget that you can include magazines and blogs in your reading. Turn your reading logs into me by August 29. Jordan suggested Starbucks coffee as a reward for those who read the most. Any other suggestions?
